Upper Paleolithic Scraper Blade Cast

Price: $25.00
An end scraper from Les Eyzies, in the Dordogne Valley of France. This is a wonderful example of a scraper made from a formal core blade, which still shows a good blade angle of use. Most endscrapers are rejected after the scraper edge angle becomes too steep after resharpening.   The original flint might have been a deep Dordogne Valley blue or grey, but this example shows the patination of over tens of thousands of years.   This fine example from the Sherman collection, was sent to Occpaleo for molding and casting.   It was examined by several Paleoindian Archaeologists here in DC, and found to be an excellent example of the type.   Blade measures 7.5 cm long.   (Cast copyright Occpaleo 2015)
