A cast of a stone tool point type from the North American Early Archaic period, of around 7 to 9,000 years ago.   Stillwells are lare corner notched tools from the East coast to Midwestern states, focusing around Illionois, Ohio, and Indiana.   They were named after pieces found at the Stillwell 2 site in Pike County, Illinois.   Points found near Illinois sites are often made of Burlinton chert, adn those around Indiana most often made of Indiana Hornstone material.   This examle from a private Ohio collection measures 4 and 7/8th inches long, and is very well flaked and thin for the type.  (cast copyright Occoquan Paleotechnics LLC 2016)
