Quad Point Cast

This Quad was cast from an excellent example of the type on loan from the Pailler collection, OH.  It measures 77mm and was made in a tan/grey chert.  Quads date from around 6 to 10,000 years ago and are often fluted, putting them in the category of transitional Paleoindian.  They are found throughout the southeast, and are named after the Quad Archaeology site in Limestone county, Alabama.  This excellent example was found Breckenridge Co, KY (Putty COA).
