Parman Point Cast

Price: $35.00
A cast of a Type 1 Parman point. The original was made in obsidian, and found in Crump Lake, Oregon in the 1960's. This type dates around 8 to 10,000 years ago in Northwest North America.   Obsidian is the classic material for this point, and this authentic example is one of the largest known.   They belong to the Great Basin stemmed group, along with such points as Lind Coulee, Windust, and Lake Mojave types.
This authentic example was sent to Occpaleo for casting in 2016.   It is extremely large for the type, measureing 7 and 9/16th inches long and 2 and 3/8th at the widest.   It shows evidence of several resharpenings, and that it was used as a knife.   (COA STERMER Western Typology 2012)
