Midland Point Cast

Price: $25.00
Manufacturer: Occoquan Paleotechnics LLC
Our new cast of one of the best known examples of the rare Midland point from the Late Paleo Period, around 10,400 to 10,700 years ago. Often called the "Unfluted Folsom" this point also shows up independantly in archaeology sites in the Southern High Plains, and many think they are related to the Folsom culture in some way.  Like Folsoms, Midland points are extremely well made, and this one is on the large side of the type, at 65mm long and 27mm wide.  This example is made in a beautiful Harrodsburg Chert, and was found by Bob Hogue in Alexandria County, Illinois. (ex Hogue, Frazier collections)(COA Stermer 2008)
