Magdalenian Burin Cast

This wonderful Burin was sent to Occpaleo for casting in 2011 from the Jerry Sherman collection.  The original made of french flint is 2 inches long, and comes from Le Sorbier(Losse Chateau) near the famous cave of Lascaux.  It dates to the Magdalenian Period(10 to 17,000 years ago), and was used for such chores as chiseling and carving bone, antler, and ivory.
