MacCorkle Bifurcate Cast

This great example of a MacCorkle bifurcate was molded and cast by Occpaleo in 2011.  It was found in Cattaraugus County, NY, and was made in a blue Coshocton Chert.  This type of Bifurcate point dates to the Early Archaic(around 6 to 9,000 years ago).  The point was first typed at the Alban's site in Kanawha County in West Virginia.  They are found east of the Ohio Valley, ranging from Alabama to Michigan.  This example measures 2 and a half inches long.
