Al Quad Point Cast

This Quad cast was molded from the authentic original as it was loaned from the Pailler collection to Occpaleo for casting in 2011.  It was found on Coffee Lake, near Elba, Alabama.  This perfect example has generated much interest lately because of its similarity to the Suwanee types in the Florida region.  Quad types are very intriguing, since the dates for this type range from 6,000 to up to 10,000 years ago.  This time frame classifies it as a Paleo transitional type, and this is backed up by the fact that many have a true flute on one side.  The name comes from the Quad archaeology site in Limestone county, Alabama.
  This point measures 3 and 1/8th inches long, and 1 and 3/8ths wide.
