Adena Knife Cast

Price: $38.00
A new cast of an authentic stone knife from the Adena culture in the area around Ohio around 2,100 to 2,800 years ago(late Archaic/early Woodland). Measures 7 and 15/16th inches long and 1 and 13/16th wide. This example was just cast by Occpaleo at the end of 2013, and showcases one of the largest stone tools for this culture and region.  The example was found in Scioto County, Ohio, and was originally made in Carter Cave chert.  This piece shows the classic Beaver tail type, with slight stem grinding.  Also original resharpening so slight as to keep the proper form and shape contours of its mind condition.  This awesome example is from a famous Ohio collection, formerly in the Carson Gilchrist, Roy Hacker, and Alan Groves collections.  (COA Western Typology, Stermer 2009)
